James Orsini, Jr., MD followed his father into a career of service to others as a physician and cancer specialist. Before going into oncology and hematology, Dr. Orsini completed his residency training in internal medicine at New York University Langone Medical Center in New York City. After that, he went on to complete fellowship training in hematology/oncology at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center.
He currently specializes in Genitourinary malignancies and works with a large urology group, consulting and collaborating with them on all phases of diagnosis, research, and the very latest treatment options.
In addition to his training and experience as a cancer and blood-disorders specialist, Dr. Orsini brings to New Jersey Cancer Care a broad perspective from his experiences as an internal medicine specialist and as a hospitalist. In 2010, he was elected to be a House Staff Council member at NYU’s School of Medicine.
In 2014 he became co-chief fellow at NBI; in 2016 he was elected to the Commission on Cancer at Clara Mass Medical Center; in 2018 he was awarded Top Doctor designation in NJ by his peers, and then again in 2019.
Dr. Orsini also initiated a robust research program at New Jersey Cancer Care and has been the primary investigator on 9 open trials while spearheading the ongoing expansion of the program.
Dr. Orisini speaks both English and Italian.
